SCILL are hosting a Book Club on the second Wednesday of the month between 5.15pm and 6.3opm. Some of our members went to the first event on 10 September and really enjoyed it. They are looking forward to the next meeting on 8 October. Future dates: 12 November and 10 December 2014.
Hope to see you there.
On 27 November there is a Christmas table-top sale at SCILL. We will be there. So if you have any unwanted gifts or bric-a-brac, please get in touch with us.
On 1 October about 1pm, we will be at SCILL having tea and cake to celebrate National Older Persons Day. Do pop along and see us, join in and find out more about the club.
Starting 24 September we can take part in Nordic Walking and Tai-Chi at Manor Park. This takes place between 11 and 12 noon so why not drop in and have a go. It’s great fun and gentle exercise to keep the joints moving!
We were at ASDA on Sunday 14 September with volunteers from the Challenger project who undertook bag packing at the check-outs and leaflet distribution.
The team raised £75 which we will use to support the club and its activities.
A huge thank you to ASDA for letting us hold the awareness day there and to the Challenger team for coming along and working so hard.
On 1 October 2014, at 10.30am The U will be delivering its Positivity session. The session lasts 90 minutes, is great fun and you can pick up some useful tips on how to maintain a positive outlook. It will take place in a central Sutton venue.
After the session we will be going on to a pub lunch. We will be meeting at The Grapes, so if you cannot make the session, why not pop in and join us for lunch.
Email is at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place.
September is Fibromyalgia Month and we are holding another awareness day to raise understanding of fibromyalgia and chronic pain on 24 September between 10am and 4pm at the Europa Gallery in Sutton’s Central Library.
Tell friends and family to pop along and meet us, to find out more about chronic pain conditions and what services the club offers local people.
