This is what we are fighting. Please share widely.

Merton, Sutton & Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have begun an “Engagement” on a set of proposals they have called “Improving Healthcare Together”.

Just like the proposals which were published in 2017 by the Epsom & St Helier Trust, if enacted these proposals would remove Acute services from ONE OR BOTH of Epsom Hospital AND St Helier Hospitals, such as:

– Accident & Emergency
– Maternity
– Paediatrics
– Intensive Care
– Cancer Care
– Coronary Care
– Emergency Surgery

The title of the proposals suggest that they will “Improve Healthcare” by providing less of it, at fewer sites, with fewer Acute hospital beds, located further away from MOST patients, by fewer Consultants.

While this is ongoing, the Epsom & St Helier Trust have ALREADY SOLD 20% of the land and buildings at Epsom Hospital for less than half the amount of one of the offers made.

The Trust plan to make a similar sale of land and buildings at the St Helier Hospital site during 2019/20 for housing.

Your MP, your GP and your councillors have the power to stop this. Please write to them using the template letters available at https://koshh.org/templates.
